The intake manifold is a key part of the fuel system of Piaggio 125 engines: it carries the air-fuel mixture from the carburettor or throttle body to the cylinder, with an even distribution for efficient combustion.
Over time the manifold deteriorates from heat, vibration and wear. A damaged manifold lets in false air: loss of power, uneven carburation and higher consumption. Replacing it with a quality part brings the engine back to its best condition.
Piaggio Liberty 125 (2001-2002), Vespa ET4 125 (1999-2002), Zip 125 and Derbi Boulevard 125-150, on Piaggio 125 engines. Check your model before buying.
While replacing it, also check the gaskets and clamps and make sure no air leaks in with the engine running; follow the tightening torques in the manual.
