How to choose a jet helmet
A jet leaves the face uncovered: it is light, quick to put on and take off, and suits scooters, naked bikes and customs. Before choosing, look at four things: approval, visor, size and lining.
Approval
In the names and product pages you find the standard stated by the manufacturer: ECE 22.06 is the most recent, while some models show ECE 22.05. Always check the marking on the page of the helmet you are interested in.
Visor: short, long or double
The visor protects from the wind. Some models have a double visor, that is an inner sun visor to lower when the sun is low: you find it for example on the Tucano Urbano El'Top and El'Mettin 6.0 and on the Momo Design FGTR Evo, which has the sun visor built in.
Size and shell
You choose the size by measuring the circumference of your head. Some makers offer several shell sizes: New Max makes it in two sizes (small and large) and the Momo Design FGTR Evo in three. The lining of many models is removable and washable, handy if the helmet is used every day.
Jet or full face?
The jet is the urban choice. If you ride on country roads or motorways, see also full face helmets and modular helmets, which protect the chin as well. For spare visors and accessories there is the visors and accessories category.

Frequently asked questions
Can a jet helmet be used outside the city?
Yes, but the chin stays uncovered. For long trips or sustained speed, a full face or modular helmet protects more.
How long does it take to receive the helmet?
Some helmets are in stock, the others are ordered from the supplier: delivery times are shown on each product page, together with the colours and sizes available.
