How to choose textile motorcycle gloves
Gloves protect your hands in a fall and from the cold: look at the season, the certification and the protection.
Season: summer, winter, mid-season
The catalogue includes summer gloves (breathable), waterproof winter gloves with Hydroscud membrane, thermal lining and Dexfill padding, and mid-season models, such as the Chaft Rio WP with waterproof lining. For the coldest weather there are also 12 V heated gloves, such as the T-UR G-Warm.
CE EN 13594 certification
Many gloves are CE certified to the EN 13594:2015 standard: the marking is in the name or on the page. Some winter gloves also state the thermal class, for example class 3 on the T-UR G-One Hydroscud, and the level of the protection, as on the Ixon Pro Cain 2 (CE level 1).
Protection and comfort
The pages describe the knuckle protection, the palm reinforcements (also in leather) and the touch fingertip for using a smartphone. Some models have a long cuff to slip under the jacket sleeve.
Size
Measure the width of your hand and compare it with the manufacturer's size guide. The sizes available are shown on the product, for example from S to XXXL on the Chaft Rio WP.
