The real problem with most motorcycle backpacks is that once you fill them up, they lose their shape and stop protecting whatever is inside. The LS2 Shield starts from the opposite problem: a thermoformed hard shell in high-density EVA (5mm, 75% hardness) coated in polyurethane, which keeps its shape and absorbs impacts even when fully packed. On the outside, a 900D polyester layer with water-repellent treatment keeps rain and moisture out; inside, a 210D polyester lining completes a build meant to last.
What really distinguishes this backpack is the expandable rear compartment: normal capacity is 25 litres, but unzipping the expansion panel takes it to 50 litres — enough room to fit a full-face helmet inside. Handy when you arrive somewhere and don't want to walk around holding your helmet, or when you need to bring home a bit more than usual.
There's a padded pocket dedicated to laptops up to 17 inches, with an internal elastic strap that locks the device in place and stops it knocking against everything else. Next to it, a smaller elastic pocket keeps keys, wallet and phone within easy reach.
